Kangaroo Island

It was hot, 50oc on the beach which left us all a bit exhausted but Kangaroo Island turned out to be a beautiful place and only a 2 hour drive from Adelide. we saw most of the sights but the best was probably Seal bay which was full of Australian Sealions there were also a number of New Zealand Fur Seals arround the coast. We also saw Koalas, the first ones I have actaully seen since arriving in Australia, cute animals but thier calls kept us awake one night, absolutely weird noise. We also visited the remarkable rocks which are granite bolders which have been carved into all sorts of amazing shapes by the wind and rain. The most disaponting thing was the lack of Little Penguins, apprently they were molting so there wasn’t many arround. Holgar who had been there before said there are normally thousands. There were a few big bushfires on the Island but they didn’t cause us any problems…well it was a bit smoky. Sadly the trip came to an end and we had to take Natalie back to Adelaide where she had found a job.
