Books?

Well I’ve been back in Gosport for 6 days now and man are things boring, I had a walk round all the places I used to go as a kid and it’s amazing really how little has changed, there are a lot of memorys here for me but not a lot of good ones. Spent a lot of the last few days just watching DVD’s and now am pretty much fed up with that, feeling stir crazy being stuck here with no transport. I enjoy reading and need to get a couple of books to read for the long haul flights coming up, so can anyone suggest any? I had a look round a couple of book shops in London but couldn’t find anything that interested me, the last couple of books I really enjoyed were The Beach by Alex Garland and K-Pax by Gene Brewer.

Reading Philip Pullman\’s His Dark Materials trilogy at present – easy read, but really enjoying it! Also really like Alistair Reynolds, especially Chasm City. Iain M. Banks is fantastic, favourites being Use of Weapons or Player of Games.Nice blog, mate!

Cool, thanks for that – I have read The Wasp factory, The Bridge and Walking on Glass. I might get a copy of The Crow Road for the flight to Hong Kong, it had some rather good reviews on Amazon. hmmm just realised I have a different Iain Banks in mind – I guess I will just have to see what is availible at WHS at Heathrow.
